        Pathologist

Duties and Responsibilities: Pathologist use bodily fluids and tissues to help them study, diagnose, and treat diseases. They perform research, patient tests, and often collaborating with other professionals in the field. Pathologist work in many medical settings. You may also perform autopsies to determine someone’s cause of death.

Salary: $191,945

Education:
  • 4 year residency
  • 1-2 years optional pathology fellowship
  • State medical license
  • Pathology board certification
  • Bachelor’s degree

Demands needed for this profession:
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work under pressure and make quick accurate decisions
  • To be good at recognizing visual patterns
  • Good problem solving skills
  • The ability to put people at their ease and inspire trust and confidence


Reflection: I would like to become an pathologist because it seems like a very interesting career to study. I like to diagnose things and see what I find so therefore this would be a good career for me to try.
