‘’ Honesty is the best policy”

This quote is trying to tell us that the best thing to do is to be honest with people not only our families. To me it is trying to tell us that we must be honest no matter what. If we choose the wrong then we have to own up to our actions because if we don’t we won’t be able to feel good about ourselves. When we choose to lie then at first we feel good but then we start to get guilty to the point where we can no longer handle it. When we are honest with the people then we will feel good and so will they. For me when i lie i feel terrible to the point where i can’t stop it. The guilt builds up and it just makes you feel worse than before. Sometimes we do have to lie for the purpose that we need to protect someones feelings. Lies aren’t excusable because if we put ourselves in the other person’s position we would want them to be honest with us and not lie about something. When we are too nice then we feel that we need to lie to keep them happy but in reality we don’t need to lie because if we do then it will be worse and we end up hurting them even more.
