     Student Success Statement

“Many think that the short term gain will be worth the long term pain, but it isn’t. In addition, using steroids is cheating, and there is nothing worse in sports than a cheater. Don’t do it.”
By - George Mitchell Senate Majority Leader, Presidential Medal of Freedom, Disney Chairman of the Board

This quote is advising us to not be cheaters and to keep going even though it gets tough. We have to keep going because cheating is never the answer to the things we want to accomplish. Meaning if we want to do something we have to do it for us and not cheat we have to be able to learn and do things no matter how hard things get. For example if we know we are going to have homework and a lot of it we should stay home and do it instead of going out with our friends. Once we decide we are  going to go out then we forget about our homework and we tell our friends if we can copy and cheat. That is not correct because there is nothing worse than a cheater not only do we affect ourselves but we affect the people around us. When we cheat not only are we getting into problems we might get others into problems too by dragging them into it. George Mitchell gives us a great example telling us that there is nothing that will ever be worse than a cheater because it's true once we are known for being a cheater people will start to not trust us and the people who we surround with will be looked as a cheater as well. We shouldn’t cheat because we need to work for ourselves and not cheat on the things we like to do because that will make us look bad.
